Jason’s story and goal of this site:

I have always been fascinated with numbers and how things work.  I took apart my first bicycle to understand how all the parts interacted, and built a BMX bike from scratch. I still take that bike riding with my son, many years later.

My background has been in software engineering and project management.  While accomplishments in the corporate world have been uplifting, there has always been something lacking in those roles – a sense of personal direction, a need to map my course in life.

Here enters personal finance.  Something public schools don’t teach, and many parents don’t instill into their children – in fact, money is a taboo topic and a source of conflict.  My parents were a prime example.  Yet having a solid footing is so important to one’s self confidence and path in life.

My goal with this blogging site is to share helpful information from experience and research that helps empower readers to make informed decisions and feel confident about their financial future.  There is a lot of misinformation out there.  This is not going to be a “hot stock tip” kind of thing.

Personal finance is a huge space – almost everything we do, every decision we make is touched by it in some way.  Yet there is no tool that puts that all in one easy to reach place.  A finance map, so to speak.  My ultimate goal is to arrange these important financial pillars into a map, so users can have their own personal, encrypted financial map at their fingertips.
